Puerto Plata’s menu is a celebration of bold and comforting flavors. Finishing touches such as creamy Flan de Queso and refreshing beverages — including the zesty Mojito and tropical Passion Fruit Juice — round out the meal beautifully.
Customers consistently praise Puerto Plata for its remarkable quality at a very reasonable price point. As one guest shared, the empanadas, both beef and shredded pork, rank among the best in the city, bursting with flavor and perfectly flaky crusts. Another satisfied diner highlighted the breakfast offerings, particularly the unique sandwich made with green plantains (tostones) instead of bread, a brilliant example of authentic yet inventive Dominican fare.

Delicious and a very happy staff that seems to like working here. Atmosphere has good Hispanic music and the restaurant is homey and clean. The beef empanada inn shredded pork are probably among the better I've had in this city.
Me and my co workers were told about this place from someone at the job site we were in. Headed there for lunch and I have to say glad we did, we ordered a variety of things and everything they brought out was delicious. The empanada de queso for me was awesome and I ordered carne guisada (meat in sauce) with white rice beans and some aguacate my co workers order mofongo, chicharrón de pollo, carne con cebolla etc everything was delicious, hot and yummy to eat. Thank you and when we come to the Jacksonville area we have another spot for great food.
I received good service. I went by 10:30 am and they still were serving breakfast until 11:00 am. They have good many options to choose from. I chose a sandwich of bistec with green plantains (tostones) instead of bread. I loved it!
There’s enough free parking. I like how the place was set up and decorated! Service was ok I did an order for takeout. Food was pretty flavorful I got Pollo guisado with rice beans a salad and a yaroa with plantain and chicken…Can’t complain about the food price was ok Came out to almost 30$ for those two which i think is just a bit more than what i’ve paid for before for something like that… but overall I’ll be going back to try some more of their food
This establishment has consistently impressed me. The lunch options, priced under $15, are remarkable, especially considering the quality of the presentation. I ordered the baked chicken, which was accompanied by a well-rounded selection of sides. The hot sauce was exceptional as well—not overly spicy, just right.
